Ivoclar IPS Style Ceramic Opaquer Paste — Metal-Ceramic (5 g)
Référence: H71208

Ceramic Opaquer Paste Style — Ivoclar
5 g opaquer paste for metal-ceramic restorations, designed for reliable masking of metal frameworks and a stable aesthetic base before layering.
For your metal-ceramic restorations: controlled application, a uniform background and a clean surface for more predictable ceramic layering.
Key advantages — Ivoclar Style opaquer paste
- High masking power: neutralizes the metal shade for a clean aesthetic base.
- Comfortable handling: viscosity suited for thin, even layers.
- Reproducible results: stabilizes the optical background before layering.
- System protocol: consistent with IPS Style consumables (opaquer/liquid, layering).
Dental applications
- Opaquing metal frameworks for metal-ceramic crowns.
- Opaquing frameworks for bridges (single to multi-unit).
- Controlled opaque base before dentin / incisal build-up.
Tip: favour thin layers and a uniform surface (less rework, better layering stability).
Instructions for use (lab)
- Finish the framework, steam-clean, then dry oil-free.
- Apply a thin, even layer of opaquer paste with a suitable brush.
- Fire according to the system instructions, then allow to cool.
- Steam-clean again and avoid contamination.
- If required, perform a second opaquer firing before layering.

FAQ — Ivoclar IPS Style Ceramic Opaquer Paste
Which metal alloys can be used with IPS Style opaquer paste?
IPS Style opaquer paste is designed for metal-ceramic restorations on frameworks compatible with the system’s CTE range. It is suitable for most precious and non-precious dental alloys commonly used in laboratories. Always refer to the official Ivoclar IFU / eIFU to confirm alloy compatibility and firing parameters.
How many layers should be applied and how thick?
For optimal results, apply one to two thin layers rather than a single thick coat. Thin, even layers ensure homogeneous metal masking, better adhesion of subsequent ceramic layers and more predictable esthetics. Always respect the recommended firing cycles between applications.
Why do transparent areas or shade differences appear after firing?
These issues are usually caused by uneven application, insufficient framework cleaning or non-compliant firing parameters. Thorough steam cleaning, controlled brush application and strict adherence to Ivoclar’s firing instructions help achieve a uniform and stable opaque layer.
