FAQ — Chungking Black Brush Ø 80 mm (2 rows)

What is the difference between 4 straight rows and converging brushes?

The 4- row straight brushes provide linear contact and evenly distributed pressure across the surface.

  • This geometry promotes a very stable trajectory, useful for obtaining regular topography.
  • Converging brushes concentrate more action on a smaller area to reach marked reliefs, but often require more control to avoid micro-flats.
  • In practice, choose 4 converging rows for a first rough polishing, converging profiles are suitable for large areas.
What polishing pastes or pumices should I use it with?

The black Chungking brush accepts most resin and metal polishing pastes , as well as natural pumice in a wet environment.

  • For efficient work: roughen with a properly hydrated medium sandpaper, then move on to a finer brush such as 3 rows 55.
  • Avoid saturating the brush: load little but often, which limits heating and maintains active abrasiveness.
  • Between each step, clean the part and blow the brush to avoid cross-scratches due to residual grit.
What speed and pressure settings do you recommend?

Work at a moderate speed , sufficient to activate the abrasive without heating the resin or rounding the functional edges.

  • Light, continuous pressure is better than occasional touches: let the tang do the work, keep the tool moving, and cross your passes.
  • On metal parts, gradually increase the speed while monitoring the heating.
  • If vibrations occur, check the balance, concentricity and condition of the adapter ring.
  • Finally, renew the paste as soon as the effectiveness decreases to maintain a uniform surface condition.
How to extend the life of the brush?

To last, the brush must be kept clean, balanced, and unsaturated. After each session, blow the bristles to remove paste and moisture, wipe the hub, and let it air dry.

  • Store away from solvents and crushing to maintain bristle straightness.
  • During use, avoid excessive speed and pressure which fatigue the frame and prematurely open the tuft.
  • Rotate dedicated brushes (resin/metal) to limit cross-contamination, and replace the tool as soon as visible irregularities appear.
